The spirit of rowing comes to life once again on the historic waters of the Golden Horn. This initiative is becoming an open-to-all sports and lifestyle platform that brings Istanbul’s rich maritime heritage together with a contemporary perspective. Held on the Golden Horn on 06-07 September 2025, the DenizBank Tersane Istanbul Rowing Cup, hosted and organized by Tersane Istanbul, offered the city a powerful weekend combining sports, culture, and entertainment. For centuries, the Golden Horn has held a place in Istanbul’s memory of production through its shipyards; this time, it came alive with the rhythm of rowing races. Spectators experienced the excitement of competition within a vibrant festival atmosphere. For two days, the shores of the Golden Horn turned into a true festival area with a rich program extending beyond rowing races. The event featured meet-and-greets with Nickelodeon Play! characters, The Land of Legends’ balloon show, all-day DJ performances curated by MON, personalized illustrations, and much more. While the special flavors of “This is not a Pop-Up” accompanied the experience, the Fazıl Say & Golden Horn Orchestra concert added an unforgettable finale to the weekend. For those who want to get to know rowing more closely and connect with the deep-rooted water culture of the Golden Horn, Tersane Istanbul Rowing Club, operating within Tersane Istanbul, offers an important meeting point. The club creates an open learning and development space for everyone interested in rowing through regular training sessions, technical education, and social events.
